Hebron Rehabilitation Committee
Organizes a volunteer day in the Old City of Hebron

On 28.12. 2010 A group of graduates of the Ford Foundation and is a program within AMIDEAST organization, as well as programs MEPI, A +, ACCESS, YES organizes a voluntary day in the old town of Hebron, including four axes; the painting of alleys of Dandis District , painting a mural in the Al Yaqtha School for , painting the doors of shops in the markets of the old town as well as to replace the damaged lighting in the alleys of the Old City in collaboration with students of the Spanish Academy Hebron Rehabilitation Committee. More than sixty volunteers participated in the activity.

Gathering has been in the building of the Spanish Academy at eleven am . Mr. Emad Hamdan, director of the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee welcomed the participants and praised for their participation in these events that have a significant impact on the return of life to the old town by improving the general appearance of the city, While The director of Spanish Academy, Mr. Mahmoud Manasrah stressed on  the support of the  Academy initiatives in such deals.

On the other side, Manar Natsheh ,coordinator of this activity, showed the overall objective which is to the definition of alumni programs, AMIDEAST development of the old town in the presence of outposts in the heart of the city of Hebron and the contribution of volunteers to work hard in a part of the old town is a serious attempt to improve the situation where even though the part is limited.

The Eng.. Walid Abu Halawa's,public relations director for Hebron Rehabilitation Committee, presented a video about the political, economic and social situation in the old town and the most important achievements made by the Committee during the past years.
Then the participants of volunteers launched with the staff of Hebron Rehabilitation Committee to Dandis District and Al Yaqtha School for boys and the old market town in order to direct work. While working, His Excellency the Governor of Hebron, Mr. Hmaid worked a tour in the old town and follow-up activity closely.

Also representatives from the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem , Mr. Mark Fernando, Coordinator of Middle East Partnership Initiative and Ms. Irene Mae , Assistant of the cultural section of the initiative and Rasha Khatib ,assistant of initiative and Hadeel Saleh coordinated Alumni Association, They were escorted on a tour and introduce them to the situation prevailing in the city and the daily suffering of Palestinian citizens by Mr. Imad Hamdan, who concluded the tour with a visit to the Spanish Academy.
